Welcome to The Science Spot with Ms. Anderson! Here you will find past Science experiments, projects, and lessons I have completed with my K-6 students! You will also find Science activities to complete at home! I know we are all facing a challenging time right now due to the recent COVID-19 Outbreak and many of us are spending a lot of time indoors. I will do my best to make your time at home fun and educational! If you are looking for experiments, engineering projects, and other Science activities to do at home, please click on the “Science at home” link at the top of this page. If you would like to view past lessons I have done with my students, click on the “Science at school” link. Thanks for visiting and happy Sciencing! 🙂
About me:
To tell you a little bit about myself, I currently teach Science to K-6 students at a school in Encinitas, San Diego. I have been teaching elementary school for 5+ years now and have taught in the regions of California, Spain, and Uganda. I taught third grade for three years in San Diego County and taught fifth grade for one year in San Francisco. I also spent a year teaching English in Madrid, Spain, and taught English at an orphanage in Northern Uganda for two summers. I absolutely love igniting curiosity and a love for learning in students! I strive to create a positive learning environment in which students are encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn from one another. I am passionate about fostering students’ social emotional health and am certified in Positive Discipline and Responsive Classroom teaching practices. In my free time, I love to travel, go to the beach with my goldendoodle, play ukelele, do yoga, hike, explore nature, and spend time with friends and family. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy my website!
